The website Hunch, which combines “algorithmic machine learning with user-curated content, with the goal of providing better recommendations for everyone,” recently posted this funny food-related item on its blog: “You Vote What You Eat: How Liberals and Conservatives Eat Differently.” It shows the food preferences of those who self describe as “liberal” or “conservative.” As expected, there are notable differences, but also a lot of common ground. Fortunately, the Founding Farmers menu offers items to satisfy folks of all political stripes. Click on the image below to see the full infographic. And whether you lean left, right, or hew to a centrist position, remember: As Albert Einstein once said, “An empty stomach is not a good political advisor.”

For the third consecutive year, Founding Farmers has been crowned by the good people of DC as the Best American Restaurant in the 2011 Washington City Paper’s Reader Poll. It has been our passion to serve our friends and family from our farm-inspired American menu of true food and drink. Recognition such as this warms our hearts and constantly inspires us to go above and beyond the ordinary. So whether you are a regular or newbie, come down to Foggy Bottom and let us show you what award-winning food really tastes like.

"Rise & Shine" cocktail - a great hangover helper
Daily newsletter Urban Daddy has highlighted Founding Farmers’ Hangover Cure in their newsletter on Friday, March 12 — because as anyone knows, imbibing that causes a bit of a headache or unstable feeling is best cured with hearty, American fare, like a really great, carb-loading breakfast with a careful balance of protein, fats, spice and some other spirits to regain equilibrium. Oh, and St. Patty’s Day is coming up, and college basketball March Madness is starting, and well, the weekend will be here soon!
Try: the Farmhouse Red Flannel Hash with a side of thick-cut upgraded bacon; an egg scramble with cheese and homemade English Muffin; an eye-opening Bloody Mary or “Corpse Reviver”, organic Intelligentsia coffee, and for dessert, a great big slice of Red Velvet cake. Or just some cookies. Either way, your head, your body – and your taste buds – will thank you.
